Buzzards are a medium sized bird of prey. They are about 50-57cm in length, smaller than a red kite. They wingspan is 1.13-1.28. Buzzards are sometimes mistaken for golden eagles or its close cousins the honey buzzard and the rough-legged buzzard. Both a little bit bigger than the buzzard.

DietEdit

Buzzards eat mostly carrion but do also kill live prey. Many people (if they live next to the country) have seen buzzards carry away rabbits, voles and mice. Buzzards hover in the wind and when the see a sign of movement the drop on the prey and bring it back to feed its chicks or itself. Buzzards also eat minibeasts including beetles and earthworms.

Where to see themEdit

You normally see buzzards around fields, meadows and the country side. Buzzards are also found in forests.
